canon 7d, canon 300 with 2x, f/5.6, 1/640, ISO-800... this may not be as good as true macro lens, but can be tried at times...no idea about the ID.

Looks like a 2nd or 3rd instar nymph of the red silk cotton bug, Dysdercus koenigii. What is the minimum focus distance with the 2x on?
Nice details. Good colours and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.
Abhishek, I think the new canon 300 f2.8 L IS II USM lens has minimum focusing distance of 6.6 feet and the previous version was 8.2 feet. The magnification is 0.18x. These long lenses are not actual macro, however, they can focus close because of the longer focal length. So can be used in some scenarios.
These red beauties move pretty fast. I remember having a hard time clicking them with a 100mm macro and getting the composition that I need without cropping. The depth of field is pretty shallow at f5.6. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
