Default A Sunset from Venus :)

The season's first monsoon sunset in Goa. Sunsets in this season tend to have intense orange and peach coloured hues due to the heavy cloud cover. Reminds me of the atmosphere on the planet Venus. Shot at a small secluded beach close to home in Dona Paula, Goa.Canon 500D, Canon 18-55 mm ISFL 18 mmSS 6secAv 22ISO 100Almost full frame (tilt corrected)Shot with the camera mounted on a Gorillapod fastened to a treePP - Colour temperature reduced, some fill light added to bring out details in the vegetation/rocks.Thanks, C&C welcome.

Beautiful. It feels as the sun is setting, the sea has become very clam and quiet. The rocks frame the image nicely from the right. The red hues add to the composition. Thanks for sharing.

I would have loved to see the image without any changes to colour temperature so that I could have visualised the scene better. I have never seen such a tinge enveloping the entire landscape in India, so am intrigued.

The small wavelets on the water look nice. Is the beach clean? How deep is there? Did you click this during low or high tide time? Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

    Default Original image

Sabyasachi- Here is the unaltered image.
Note that this is a long exposure post-sunset image, so the colours are not exactly what the naked eye would see.

The beach is not entirely clean, but it is a small secluded beach with very few visitors. The depth from the shore is gradual. I've swum/snorkeled here a few times and seen some good marine life (glass shrimps, several species of crabs, sergeant majors, gobies, blennies, seaweed and coral patches).
The tide was receding when i clicked this.
