    Default Great Indian Hornbill_Manas NP

The gypsy was totally fulfilled by the students in which I was riding while enjoying a morning safari inside the Manas National park. Actually I was heading an excursion trip over there at that time. Just near “Uchilabandh” I quickly positioned my lens in such crowded gypsy just hearing a call of Great Indian Hornbill. And I was lucky to capture the intimate moments between this pair. All of a sudden the male one departed the place. Don’t know whether any conjugal disharmony had taken place or not!!

It was an overcast early morning and sometimes drizzling too. Hence considering these hindrances photographing in such a forest like Manas where vegetation is so dense was really a difficult job..

Beautiful documentation. January to April is the breeding season, you were fortunate to sight the pair and capture them in one frame. TFS

Lovely sighting. Great that you could capture the bird with the wings extended position. Such vibrant colours. Getting the female in the background with slight eye contact adds to the composition. You have done well in the given conditions. Thanks for sharing.

Loved the outstretched wings. Looks like there was fog in the morning? When the bird flew perhaps some tree bark came off. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
