The Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), is a wading bird of the heron family Ardeidae, native throughout temperate Europe and Asia and also parts of Africa. It is resident in the milder south and west, but many birds retreat in winter from the ice in colder regions. It has become common in summer even inside the Arctic circle along the Norwegian coast.

Nice first post. Its good that you have included detailed description. Nice flight pose. Good you got eh eye in the clear. If it is a crop some more space all around and at the bottom would be good as the wing tip is nearly touching the frame. Do post the EXIF details of ISO, aperture and shutter speed to help in commenting. Thanks for sharing.

Nice downstroke of the wings. Unfortunately, it is partially hidden behind vegetation. Else, it would have looked better. Also, I would like to see a wider composition. This is tight at the bottom, right and top. Amount of crop, exif details like shutter speed, aperture, camera and lens details will help us in critiquing better. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
