This looks like a kind of stink bug. I remember Abhishek once mentioning that they have simple eyes (the red ones) along with the compound eyes.

This is Catacanthus incarnatus, a type of shield bug. It is also commonly called the "Hitler bug" because the markings resemble Adolf Hitler's face :-). Bibhav has rightly mentioned about the simple eyes... Never checked their colour in this bug though.
