The mid-air flight pose is nicely captured. The wing spread looks nice. Agree a 1.4 TC would have helped you to get closer and also avoid the bright sky on the left. Thanks for sharing.

The wingspread is nice. The composition is fine. I agree that with a 1.4x TC the subject will be bigger in the frame. That will help in the AF point placement on the subject. In this image, the focus seems to be ahead of the bird. This easily happens when the subject is small in the frame.
