This is a Brown-headed Barbet Megalaima zeylanica. Lovely shot of this shy bird. Love the details, especially in the eye. A little more depth of field for the tail would have been great.

Nice one. Eye contact is nice. If this would have perched in a lower branch then it would have been great as the highlights of the sky visible through the canopy is a bit distracting. Ofcourse, there was no way you could have changed that from your shooting position. Good to know that you had a great time in ratnagiri. Thanks for sharing.
