(Yes, I know it's a gaur, please bear with us old fogeys. . .)

I liked this image of this male taken one misty morning in Kabini. He looked so much at home and so self-assured in his world. Although he has not reached his full size, he has no natural predators and seemed to be surveying his kingdom.

Opening up the blacks changes the mood of the photograph.

EOS 400D, 300f4 + 1.4x converter, ISO 100 on Aperture Priority @ f5.6.

Thanks for looking, c & c welcome.

Moody image. Nice feel. The texture in the tree has come out nicely.

Lovely image, great forest feel and mood captured here. I do feel like I am present there watching the beast.

As for Bisons, I have fallen in love with this species after my recent trip to Kanha. I managed to get a few close ups in golden light...highlighting the horns and the body. Will post some photos after I get rid of this jetlag. A picture of an alpha male of this species can stand it's own against any other big animal's photo, imo.
