I saw this and a juvenile (the juvenile is behind the tree) while passing through one of the most amazingly beautiful stretches of Sal forest between Sathiyana bridge and the exit gate.
Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300mm, ISO 1000, 300mm, 1/125s - F/7.1, -0.3EV

Nice perch and eye contact. The light was low and you were already using ISO 1000, else a narrower aperture would have helped to get more details in the bark. Its good you got the eye in good focus. Thanks for sharing.

We owe that forest to Billy. Without him everything would have been lost even before people could know that such a beautiful forest exists. Did you sight the barasingha?

Very early morning...the 70-300mm is a light guzzler, does not perform at its best in low light
