Photographed at Tadoba Anderi Tiger Reserve
When we spotted this, it was stalking some bird and it finally caught his kill(Grater Coucal)

Wow Sucheth! Such a nice sighting. Did you see it jumping and catching the kill or the process was hidden behind the bush? When did you click this? :thumbup1:

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Thank you all for your valuable comments....

Sabyasachi Patra: This was taken in March 2012(5 months back),yes we saw when it jumped but we r not sure that what was the pray and weather it got it r not... all took place in the grass like what you see in this image.. after the action it came little bit out from the grass with kill, this image was taken that time. we were searching for the Telia tiger cubs in this spot.

Roopak: No Roopak no image in clear all i could manage is this and one i have posted earlier.this place is water body full of tall grass.

Sucheth Bhai,
About your image everyone has expressed appreciation, which you deserve.
From Natural History angle, I wish to be enlightened about :
"Has the colour of the jungle cat come out natural in the image i.e.,what you have seen with your own eyes."
Kind regards,SaktiWild

Many thanks Sucheth Bhai.
The colour of the Jungle Cats seen by me(not in Tadoba) was brownish grey or tawny.
When I first saw your photo, I had been wondering to what extent the natural colour has come out. Glad to get your reply in the affirmative. Then surely it is a record image and a part of natural history.

".........except that there seems to be a greater admixture of brick red in the grey than in descriptions, especially in Tadoba N.P. in Maharashtra" -M. Krishnan.

He wrote it after 22 observations of the Jungle Cat in 7 different national parks and sanctuaries during the sixties. It's a tribute you are paying through the lens to the great naturalist teacher during his birth centenary year.

Kind regards,
SaktiWild
