Sweet bird. When was this photographed?

I agree with the composition. The blacks can be lifted a bit. The dark patch on the top attracts attention. Did you expose it to darken it this way or did you pulled down the exposure during post processing? How much of crop is this?

I would like to see the habitat in focus rather than blurred. Most of the european photographers take care to show us the habitat where as the americans mostly go for this kind of bird in stick approach.
