We were on the boat, watching a little snake swimming towards the stork which stood still. When the snake was within striking distance, the stork snatched it with great speed and flew away with the catch.

Nice to see it with the catch. Liked the way it is holding it in the beak. Seems it was a bit far. There seems to be some loss of details. Is this a crop? Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see the image. The flight, wingspread, the prey in full length, the way of holding the snake with the bill and maintaining safe distance well documented. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image and a good natural history record. where was this? wish this had been closer.

Many beginners often complain about seeing the same set of birds while birding and lose intrest but miss out exciting natural history moments like this which makes briding even in places where the species list is not long an exciting and great way to spend time. In recording such moments and sharing them we add to collective natural history knowledge and make the time spent worthy, the fun apart.

So much to learn and tell people. Unfortunately, as Roopak has mentioned, most of the birders move from one place to another counting the number of species they have seen. Watching some of this common species will often give us chances of watching such uncommon situations. Thanks for sharing.
