The down-stroke of wings look nice. Good eye contact. There seem to be some loss of details, maybe due to the crop? How much is the crop? Thanks for sharing.

In pied kingfishers the challenge is to get the eye. The black on black colour scheme without supporting lighting is difficult to expose.
