Hello Friends,

Captured this beautiful creature early morning in Yeoor Hills, Thane.This painted grass-hopper was quite a fun to shoot. May be , due to early dew on its wings , ii was stand still & allowed me to click at leisure.

Camer used : Canon EOS 550 D
Lens : Canon EF-S 18-135mm IS
Focal Length : 135 mm
F Number : F/20
Exposure : 1/200 sec
Flash Used : Yes ( to remove shadows of rising sun)
Exposure Compensation : -1

Would request for comments & critics from all my friends in Indiawilds.

A very colorful species. I think you could have zoomed out a bit more to have more space at the top (to include the antennae in full) and a bit more space at the bottom. Maybe moving a bit more to the right to get more view of the eye would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

The repost looks good. The eye doesn't seem to be in critical focus, check the AF point. Is this a crop? Composition looks fine. Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks for very valuable inputs. AF is on eye only but I have no clue how it missed critical focus & yes, its a crop for composition.

A vertical composition would have been better as that would have ensured the complete antennae in the frame. The depth of field is good.

You should post one image in one thread, so that it becomes easier to critique.

The second image is soft. Please remember that when you crop an image, the deficiencies will also get magnified. It is a good practice to compose in the field.

Hi,

Seems you are from Thane. Well, I take the hills from Manpada Road, Near Tikujini Wadi & at start of Tata Power sub-station.
