A bush cricket (katydid) nymph in early evening light. Since these crickets have very long antennae, I tried creating a 'scape to accomodate them.
The nymph form can be identified by the absence of wings. The wings later appear as buds or stubs (will post another image to show this), gradually growing back until they completely cover the abdomen or extend well beyond it.

Canon 500D + 100mm Macro USM; Gorillapod support
SS 1/25
Av 9.0
ISO 800
EC -0.3
Small crop from the bottom to remove the edge of another leaf.

Thanks, C&C welcome.

This is very interesting. Nice composition. You have shown the super long antennae :) I wonder whether it is ten times its body length. Thanks for sharing.

I like the composition and the lighting. The leaf in the background does draw a bit of attention when I look at the image long enough. However the patterns on the back and the antennae definitely hold your interest. Nicely done!
Thanks for sharing.

Lovely details despite the low shutter speed, the tripod has helped. The composition looks good. The light is nice showing the antennae and the nymph nicely. Thanks for sharing.
