This is the cousin of the Malabar Giant Squirrel. It has almost the same size but lacks the copper hue of its cousin. Cute and daring nonetheless in their own regard. This one had no qualms of me being around.

Shot in Bheemeshwari.

The eye contact is nice. Good details. The bark frames the subject nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one. What time of the day was this photographed? Shutter speed seems pretty low. Were you photographing from a balcony? The eye contact is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Hi Sabyasachi and Mrudul,
I was standing near the tree as the squirrel allowed me to approach quite close without it getting nervous. This guy was around 10-12 feet up in the tree and went around its business with us around for nearly 20 minutes before it decided to go up to the canopy. This was clicked in the evening around 5:30 PM.

The squirrel seems to be saying 'I see you' :). Love the pink nose and the brown body. Eye contact is nice too. Many a times we are in for surprises when nature behaves exactly the way we dont expect it to :)..Thanks for sharing.
