Canon 550D or 600D..

Hi All,

i would like to know which of the following body is better to begin..550D or 600D..i personally use 550D and im satisfied..one of friends wants to know how 600D is..has anyone used it?according to my information..both the bodies have almost same functions except for flip out screen which 600D has..and does 600D with 18-55mm lens provide a reasonable macro due to flip out screen?

I am fine with either the 550D or the 650D.

The difference between the 550D and the 600D are minor so shouldn't compel a person to upgrade. Ofcourse the 600D has got an articulating screen. However, for macro mode unless you are placing the camera on a support, I am not sure how you will use an articulating screen and do the focusing.

I don't think the 18-55 lens is the right choice for macro. Get a 100mm macro, with or without IS. That will go a long way in getting decent images.
