Strawberry Finch... Surat outskirt

This is from the same place where I got Blue throat, with dr. Dave, at Surat.
All I observed this time is the male finches are more dark this time, some even blackish as in the picture. Is this the non breeding plumage? Experts may put some light.

Nice you could photograph a pair of finch. Nice eye contact and catch light. Thinking how a vertical composition would look. Did you try any vertical framing? Thanks for sharing.

A vertical framing would have worked with a longer lens and/or closer approach. The present image would have benefitted from more depth of field. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more of these beautiful birds.
