Photographed this Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) in the same spot as the previous image. Light was harsh. I was focussed on the head and beak. It had snatched a piece from a carcass and was flying away.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 1.4xII, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/1600, EV:-2/3rd. Evaluative metering, full frame image.

Look forward to your comments.

Cheers,

Hi Sabyasachi,
Lovely angle. I envied u that you had the head on angle and that too with your 400mmx2=800mm plus 1.3 crop factor... :P
Just wish that the under body was somehow a bit more lit... The drops look good. :)

Great shot.. the sight was indeed very amazing... i have a few more shots of them with the 135mm. will post soon.. :)

Lovely photograph. Action well captured. I liked the angle of its flight and the water droplets. Nicely composed.

Bibhav,
I could have used the 2 x converter but that would have been too tight. So I used the 1.4x TC with the 400mm f2.8 ie. at 560 mm focal length. Together with the 1.3 crop sensor it becomes 728mm.

Look forward to your images made with the 135mm. I think people will get a good idea viewing the same situation with different equipment, angle, position and from different people

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
