While dad had his share of the Pelican landing sequence at Kelambakkam, i did have one as well, but this one - with a smooth landing and hence a happy ending . . . Here is the first of them . . .

The pelican is about to land with its webbed feet stretched and ready. I agree that with wings a bit higher, the head would have been visible. Thanks for sharing.
