Spotted this small flower all along the small water locks near a river bank. Seemed similar to a lotus, but more like a miniature lotus pond.
Colleagues said that the locals call this flower as Kumud.
ID help suggested for the actual name of this flower.
Seriously missed a Macro lens as the lighting and the set up was perfect for it.

This plant is Nymphaea indica, Nymphaeceae, commonly known as Indica Tropical water Lily. Nice shot!

Nice flowers. The white hair like tentacles look nice. Good details and composition. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see this water lily. A macro lens would be a better addition to many photographers than longer lenses. There are many macro subjects around.

Well Sir, I intended to get it, but Canon decided to hike the prices of the lens... :(
Hoping that the prices do come down eventually

If you remember, I had advised you to buy the 100mm macro along with the camera, rather than the zoom lens. It is better to be master in one area, rather than jack of all trades. One needs to build up the equipment base according to need with a longterm time frame in mind.

Ever since Manmohan Singh as finance minister decided to devalue the rupee by showing us the carrot of higher exports, the rupee has gone depreciated rather than strengthen, except for a brief period. Gold has crossed the oil import bill. Soon electronics imports will also cross the oil import bill. In a meeting the RBI dy gov said that export organisations always make submissions to keep the rupee down. Don't expect the rupee to go down to the level of toilet paper, but don't expect it to appreciate much either. There will not be a significant change in prices in the forceable future.

I wish I had ample bucks to purchase it that time itself, but nyways, am trying to extend my savings for the ultimate weapon... :)
