Driving through the unexplored desert dry scrub forests of Bera, we sighted this falcon, perched about to take off. Waited for the critical moment and was rewarded with its take off shot.

Shot with Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300mm, 300mm, ISO 200, 1/800s - F/6.3

Nice timing. Looks like Juv white eyed buzzard to me.

You certainly have been rewarded for the wait, for the timing is awesome. Looks like the focal point is more on the leaves. Maybe a higher ISO would have given a higher shutter speed, which in turn would have eliminated the blur of the wingtips. Overall a beautiful composition.

thanks for sharing

Nice image Kaustuv, wish you were a bit closer to the bird. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the previous comments. With shorter lenses, it becomes very difficult to accurately nail the focus. The AF point becomes much larger in size and one has no control over the exact point of focus. Good to know that you did some birding there as well. Thanks for sharing.
