Hi Friends,

Pleased to share this Brown Headed Gull captured @ Vasai Creek Near Kalwa Bridge, Thane , Maharashtra.

EXIF : 550D, Av Mode, FL : 135 mm, f/5.6, 1/000, ISO:100, 75% Crop

There is a big nullah emptying city sewerage in creek. One can see Sea Gulls, Terns, Marsh Harriers feeding on the garbage brought in by nullah. Not a very pleasant sight & lot of bad odour, but good amount of birds.

Nice flight pose. Good eye contact. The back-lit wings look nice. Wish it was closer. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mrudul & Sakti da, Thanks for your comments .

Sabyasachi Da, I get your point. Infact , as a beginner , under many influences right now.I am reading "Understanding Exposure" by "Bryan Peterson" , who has advocated "Cloudy" WB for all his pictures & just tried on it. But understand now, how the application of context & your own judgement is so critical,at least in Nature/ Wild life photography.

Reposting the one with Daylight WB & would like to hear from you.

Also, I have identified the bird wrongly earlier & understand now that its Yellow legged gull / Caspian Gull in its first winter.

Just got hold of "The Book of Indian Birds" by "Salim Ali" and familiarising myself in bird identification.
