I like the pose. Were you shooting against the light and pulled up the shadows a lot? The curved perch is interesting. A wider composition with more space at the right would have been better here.

thanks Sabyasachi. i did brightened the image a little, but i waited to get the bird against darker background. against bright background i find it impossible to get any colours in this bird.

The purple-bluish colour looks nice. Nice head turn. The dark patch on the neck is nicely documented. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image Dr.Katre. Sometimes nature and names dont match I feel :). When I saw this image last night, my wife told me that the color is far from being purple, its blue...and with women especially wifes, better not to argue :).
Nevertheless, a lovely image. Thanks for sharing.

Murugan it does have a purple patch on its throat.... Tough to expose the same properly.
