Nice experiment. Please check the AF point, it seems it is locked on the leaf behind the bird, so the bird is not in critical focus. I feel silhouette composition work well with the sun in the background. An off-centered composition, by placing the bird more to the right would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

A mundane scene elevated due to the black and white and silhouette treatment. By the way, you have the focus locked in the leaf infront. The colour version would have made that painfully obvious. The black and white silhouette treatment leads us to look at its form and we don't talk about details in the image.
