The Leopard often is ignored, abused as a lesser cat. Its survival skills is remarkable and can often camouflage itself in degraded habitats around villages.

what a stunning photograph.....
Hats off, Saby... :)
this does lead me to a few uncomfortable questions....
* what would this world be without this wealth offered to us by nature...??
* why are we so blind to the degradation around us...??
* do we not realise that it is OURSELVES that we are harming...??
* will the children growing up in exessively urbanised environment thank us
for destroying what is esentially a treassure that should be passed on to
them...??

That is a great photograph.
Leopards are little difficult to spot, leave even photographing. Very shy hidden animals.
THis is one luck shot.
Kudos Sabyasachi Patra

I agree that they are difficult to find. Beautiful nevertheless.

I had to wait for about an hour before the leopard reappeared. It had vanished initially when it saw me. I was watching intently at the spot, it was to appear. I saw a small piece of branch fall down. I could not hear the sound, but since I was watching at that spot, I knew the leopard is around. It looked at me through the bush and after few minutes it came out. I allowed it to relax and then photographed. I hope the next leopard sighting would be soon.
