Photographed at Bangaluru Outskirts, this was the moment when the Harrier was about to dive freely to catch the small bird and finally it was successful in catching pray. it was little far i could manage only this...

Well documented! Just look at the way the wings were folded backwards while coming down. If you have noted, every aircraft while landing uses such a technique. Some panels in the wing will be lifted in the opposite direction.

Nice diving pose captured. The wing tip feathers folded outwards like the 'flaps' on airplane wings, which are raised upwards to reduce speed and increase drag which helps in slowing them while landing. Wish it was closer for more details. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see the position of the wings. It is a fact that our engineers have studied the birds to understand their aerodynamics. Knowledge of these facts can make birdwatching more interesting. Thanks for sharing.
