Made this image at Bharatpur Bird sanctuary.
Canon EOS 1Dx with 500mm f4 IS L lens
ISO 800, f5.6 1/3200s

right on target.. great and sharp capture... any reasons for the close crop... a little bit of space would be good around the bird...

Thanks for your comment. I was tracking the pelican which was swimming at quite some distance with my 500mm lens. Suddenly, the pelican flew in and landed very close to me. Did not have time to change lens or pick up my other camera with the 70-200 lens.

Nice landing pose. The water droplets add to the image. I agree that a bit more space, especially at the top would have strengthened the composition. However, with a long lens at times one has to compose tightly. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.
