Nice wing spread. A bit more brightness will be good as the underparts of the wings have become dark and lost details. Eye contact is fine. What were the exif details?

EXIF : Canon 60D, Canon 400 mm f/5.6, Aperture Priority, 5.6, 1/800, ISO 320, EC+1 but pulled down in PP, Ev.Metering, 25% crop.

I've re-processed the same image by pulling up the brightness & am re-posting for your critique please.

Any tips from all of you on shooting BIF images against a white / grey sky as well as tips on DPP of such images shall be invaluable ! Look forward to your critique & comments please.

The re-post looks better. The details in the underparts of the wings look good now. Liked the wing spread and the eye contact. There is more detailed discussion on backlit subjects in the thread below -

The underparts are slightly more visible in the repost. However from I am unable to know the sharpness of the head. You can post upto 1000 pix on the longest side. I feel this needed more brightness, so that the underparts would have been better exposed.

With the 60D, I think you can increase the ISO by another one third stop without getting much noise. The trick is to get the exposure right.

I guess it is always better to expose the subject properly rather than worrying about the sky getting washed out. Thanks for all your valuable comments !
