This was photographed in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

Razor sharp focus amidst a cluttered foreground and that too handheld at an unimaginable shutter speed of 1/30 (atleast for me !). OUTSTANDING !!!

Nice image. Have you taken f6.3 for sharpness issue with this combination of lens instead taking the max aperture f5.6? I would also like to ask that in this type of scenario what you prefer, Auto focus or manual?

Beautiful eye contact. I still remember this sighting, with this male cub coming and sitting behind the bush on the right and the female cub sitting in the open on the left. Amazing to see them both at such close distance with all the other gypsies gone and we were the only gypsy left at 5.30pm in the evening. Great details and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

I was looking at achieving a particular depth of field so used f6.3. The 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM lens is one of the sharpest lenses in the Canon lineup. It works well with 2x converters and even at f5.6.

Excellent sharp image with the 2x, BTW isn't the series III 2x supposed to match the 70-200 series II? There is a very nice catchlight, did you use flash? What was the ISO?

Agree with above comments....Like the catch light and the alert look.the bamboo twigs in the FG gives a nice effect.

I haven't bought the 2xIII TC. However, the 2xII TC finds lot of use especially since I am filming more these days. I am likely to get the 2xIII TC.

I didn't use flash. Don't like the look of flash in my images. The catchlight was because the tiger turned its head and caught the last rays. I was using ISO 320.
