Hi Neil,

Nice stride and eye contact. Is it a crop? You could have possibly used a higher aperture and shutter speed to capture the movement.

Have cropped a little from the border. It was an amazing sighting, B@ came very close and he treated us for more then 15 minutes. What an animal ! He was indifferent towards the no of vehicles lined up .

It is always nice to see the Old King. I like the composition.

1/320th of second shutter speed should have been ok, however this image doesn't appear to be sharp. Please check the size of file you uploaded. If it is more than 200kb or if the longest side is more than 800 pixels than the software would automatically resize the image and you will lose quality.

Do you use RAW or do you shoot in JPEG?

Thanks for ur comments ...The image isnt that sharp. My lense Sigma 70-300 is not very sharp beyond 200mm but i dont know whether its me or lens. All my images are little soft. Not able to figure the reason out. I use RAW only.

Neil,
It is better to test the lens in your room.

Keep it in a tripod or firm support. Use a 10 second delay timer. You can paste a newspaper on the wall and focus on it. Click a few shots at different focal lengths and check. That will tell you whether it is being caused due to handholding, lower shutter speed etc or whether it is a genuine lens error.

Also, check if you are using a UV filter infront of your lens. At times the filter is also the cause of softness.
