A Clamorous Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus stentoreus) on a pandanus leaf, the bird and plant have a lifetime bond....a umbibical cord which our race is trying its best to sever. How I wish our education system instills some sense of this vital connection into the millions of graduates it produces.

Cute bird. Lovely eye contact. Nice composition. Hardly anyone is aware of the relation a bird or a mammal have with its surrounding. So we cut trees and forests without thinking twice :(. Thanks for sharing.

I like the composition. This gives a nice feeling about its habitat. We need more knowledge and awareness. In his book, Kailash Sankhala has lamented that even BNHS had slipped by suggesting removal of the typha reeds from Bharatpur

Nice habitat portrait with good details. You seem to have moved in pretty close with the 55-250.
It is sad that even people calling themselves "birdwatchers" today are ignorant of nature from the broad perspective. They grab their binoculars, a bird book, and then race on, rapidly sighting and counting down the species seen. How many actually pause when they see something, wait there a while, and take some time to observe how the bird behaves in it environment, what it's doing etc.? Not many I'm afraid. To understand wildlife and protecting it, it is essential to first have a knowledge of how every component of it is connected in a complex web.
