A marsh harrier sat silently in the dry branches of a tree...unmoving for quite some time
Shot with the Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300mm, 300mm, ISO 400, 1/1000s - F/5.6

Nice attempt. Wish to see the raptor a bit more in the open. A narrow aperture ie. f8 or f9 would have been better. Where was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

This was in Bharatpur...wanted to convey the silent watchful predatory mood...u'r right should have had a deeper DOF

Nice behavior captured. The patterns created by the dry branches look nice. Good that you could sight it close to the ground. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a nice painting. The dry twigs and branches have created a nice unwoven pattern, may be, reflective of the mood of the bird. Having been posted under this sub-head; the pattern, I think, gets precedence over the bird. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
