This image was shot in Eravikulam National Park in Munnar.

This is the White bellied Shortwing a.k.a Nilgiri Blue Robin. The species is classified as Endangered as per IUCN.

Nice sighting of the rare species. Good perch and eye contact. How were the sightings? Did you take a safari? Thanks for sharing.

We sighted quite a good no of Nilgiri Tahrs. Among the birds sighted were Nilgiri pipit, Nilgiri Blue flycatcher, Robins etc...

In the park, you have to take a bus to the gate and from there one has to walk around 2km to the highest point allowed. One finds all of these while walking.

Unfortunately a lot of tourists dont realise that the Tahr are not Domestic Goats and harass them.

Nice one. A lower colour temperature would be nice here. Were you handholding or on monopod?
