Kanha National Park, June 2009.

She moved from her resting place, along a small ravine, and emerged quite near to us, heading to cross the road.

Amit,
I agree with the composition showing only the front portion. You have managed to get it relatively clear in the grassland, not an easy task. I wish the right eye would have been more clear - at present there is a strand of grass slightly blocking it. I would be happy if there was some more space at the bottom as the paws appear cropped. For a change the white portion of the collar at the top appears like a white grass.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Hi Amit,
Liked the stride. Agree with Sabyasachi about some more space below and in the direction she is moving. You got a sharp image at 1/00 shutter speed with the grass, thats a good job.
What is the grey patch on her body and leg, doesnt look like mud?

Look forward to more..

Hi,

The grey (almost black really) patch on her side is mud, was surprised to see mud that color in the jungle guess she must have laid in a stagnant pool.

This image is a slight crop to remove the dark mud stained hind quarters from view, (but liked the result myself). I'm afraid thats all I got of the feet or (space) below them in the image- from this point onwards she was moving quite swiftly and didn't give us too much time to think or plan:p

Image is sharp and good but cropped too closely. The whole tiger with more space to the right of the pic would have looked better. Nothing wrong with showing mud, it only shows the tigers natural behaviour of wallowing in it.
