Nice to see it feeding. Lot of detail loss due to the crop. So it would be better to include more space to give an idea about the habitat than cropping. Thanks for sharing.

thnx for the review...thought of that at first, but then the water droplets are not prominent...also the bird camouflages....

In wildlife photography often action happens at a distance. One has to either anticipate action and move closer without disturbing the subject and/or have a long lens. One has to decide and play according to his/her strengths. For eg. a unfit batsman in a game of cricket cannot run between the wickets. So for him it is important to go for strokes to get 4s and 6s without running. Similarly, a photographer with a lens has to compose according to the limitations of his equipment. If you can't move close then better to try and create an environmental composition showing the relationship between the subject and the habitat. If done well, that can be much better than a extreme close up shot.
Close up without details is a sure shot way of image getting trashed.
