Photographed at Kabini,This was taken in our morning safari,This was the same leopard which praveen has posted couple of days back. After we came across the Jackals we came to the Sigur junction, the other vehicle in which praveen was there already saw the leopard crossing the road and it was inside the bush and waiting for it to come out. Langurs were giving alarm calls and we also waited there... After few second we saw leopard in the bush walking parallel to our vehicle and went little bit inside the bush. we waited at one point thinking that it would cross but it didn't cross it walked in the bushes, by that time two more vehicles came and created little bit of noise and it moved very fast and crossed the road and went inside the bush before entering inside it gave brief look and vanished in the woods. It was nice experience.

Good to hear that there are so many leopard sighting in Kabini now. The image shows its shy nature, the way it it going through the bushes when more gypsy's came. You got the focus right on its body even with the thick vegetation around. Thanks for sharing.

this is probably how one gets to see a leopard more often than not...

I agree with Roopak that most often we see a fleeting glimpse of the leopard. Unless you rush headlong and startle it. There is always a challenge if there are more vehicles. Invariably one of the vehicles will move and the leopard is likely to get spooked. In one of the instances in Kabini, one vehicle was about to crash on a leopard while trying to move close to the leopard as the photographer had a smaller lens.

There are instances, when a leopard has come close to a hide to investigate. These days it is tough to have sightings peacefully as there are more vehicles in an area.
