7D F 5.6 190mm iso 32001/60 hand held Both birds were sitting in thick forested area without moving gently swaying as if a dead leaf buffeted by wind very difficult to spot , dark clouds made the exposure very difficult , Fill flash was used in the last image , colors in that image were good, not reflected in the picture due to profile difference (profoto)

Are you shooting in Raw? If so, you can always do the processing to bring out the colours.
