My first shots with the 5D M III. This was at Kabini. Light was quite low for Kabini was cloudy all through the weekend.
The eagle had just caught a frog and was holding it down on its right leg. Sadly i could not get a shot of it eating the frog for it moved behind the bushes after this shot.
5D M III, 400 mm DO F4 IS, 1.5 TC, f5.6, SS 1/60, Focal Length 560 mm , Bean Bag supported. Full Frame

Nice to see this fellow on the ground. It happens that when a jeep comes, they try to move behind the bush.
I think in this image the focus is more on the wings. With long lenses the depth of field is shallow ie. hardly an inch or less when the subject is close. So in this image the head portion is not covered well by depth of field. That gives an impression of the image not being sharp. Slightly brining the plane of focus to the front and near the head region would have been great.
Which AF point did you use? You can manually move the AF point by the joystick.
What was the ISO? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Sabyasachi
Noted the points on the AF. Actually, the AF system on the 5D M III was so very different from the 5D MII (which has already been taken away by Vaishnavi) and it took me a while to get to terms with this one.
If i remember right it was the center point AF that i was using.
The ISO here was 1000.
