Hi Rahul,
What you have tried to achieve is good but you missed out on how you wanted to portray it properly i feel...

1. You could have used a narrower aperture (F14 and up) to get the leave in the centre as well as the branches on top in focus.

OR

2. You could have just focused on the central leaves using a wide aperture to blur out the bg...

Overall i like the composition...

Nice composition. I agree with Bibhav. I think getting the whole image in focus would haev been better since you are reffering to the leaves and the brances. So you could have used aperture f8 and above and got the whole image in good focus. Even the dark clouds look good in the BG.

Do you have any image you have taken with a narrow aperture?

Thank you Baibhav and Mrudul for your lovely and informative words. Actually i've tried to focus both the elements and also the leaves but the light was very low at that time, and I'm not very good in photography mainly technical side. I just aim and click...Now one question.....

I'm using prosumer camera Canon S3 IS and it doesn't have more f values like other lenses have. Maximum f8 Minimum f2.7. in this situation how can i take focused composition? what should be the ideal settings for the focus in the low light condition without blurring...?

Hi Rahul,

As per the settings you have mentioned, the shutter speed you were getting at f2.8 was 1/1600. So I think you could have tried using f8, the shutter speed would have reduced, but still would have been ok to photograph this scene. What was the ISO you were using? Increasing the ISO also helps in low light conditions.

These setting would have helped to give a good depth of field to cover most of the scene.

Thank you so much for your kind help. I'll definitely try your tricks. Oh! yes, crawling is also due... :D.

I'll try f8 with lower shutter speed, but for low light i can't use ISO. My camera is..... :mad: default ISO setting is 80 and if i increase to even 100, image shows lots of grains...so i don't use ISO at all :p.

but I'll surely experiments other settings available...Thank you once again for your lovely help. God Bless xxxx :)

I agree that you will get lot of noise in higher ISOs. ISO 100 in your case is barely acceptable and ISO 200 would show up lot of noise.

I like the design of lot of smaller leaves and branches. That would have come off well in f8. I would have tried to find out where only these two green leaves are present among the background. The thick branches coming from top are distracting. Keep on trying this theme. You will come up trumps.

Thank you for your kind encouragements & guidance. Yes, i've other image with f4.5 with 1/1600 shutter speed. Though i've done mild editing in PS. Here is the other image but don't have two green leaves in it :(
