Took this photograph at Ranganthtittu last month. The light was quite harsh, so tried to recover the over-exposed part as much as possbile.
Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 200, F5.6 hand held from the boat.
Stone Plover (Esacus recurvirostris), the face has a striking black and white pattern, and the bill is black with a yellow base. The eyes are bright yellow and the legs a duller greenish-yellow. The call is a wailing whistle, given mainly at night, as with other birds in this family. The Great Thick-knee eats crabs, large insects, and other animal prey.
Comments and Critiques welcome..
