Wish i got this on a natural perch. . . . Also wanted to get the dark BG out and moved to my left, but the tripod disturbed the bush behind which i was crouching and she just flew away . . .

An early morning shot (and a slight drizzle) and i had to bump the ISO to 800 to even reach 1/160 SS. F 6.3 Canon 400D, Sigma APO 170-500.

Pity that it flew away. It would have been great without the dark patch. The background is diffused. The perch appears like a rock and doesn't seem to be unnatural. May be a little more sharpening on the eye.

Nice image. Sharp. Liked the twig in the beak. The low angle and the light on the face adds to the composition.
Yelagiri seems a good place for photographing..
