The tree was a very tall one with massive dark foliage and practically hundreds of bats squealing and writhing in continuous motion. The peculiar smell one associates with bats was also overpowering.Location-outskirts of Hyderbad. Nice behavior captured. Bats usually are seen together on the same tree. Some more details would have enhanced the composition further. Is this a crop? Thanks for sharing.

Nice record..they come togather in large numbers to roost in day time. Fig and banayan are common roostig trees. Isolated mangoove sites are also preffered. Destruction of roosting sites in one of the challenges faced by this species.

Thanks Mridul and Roopak. There is only minimal cropping as was required for strengthening the image imact. The tree was a gigantic one with dark foliage against an afternoon sun.It was quite a challenge getting details.Still getting used to a new set of photographic equipment.

Nature has created them differently. A lot of the sound they make is beyond our hearing in the ultrasound range.

Exposure wise it is a challenge as you have the blacks in the bats and the bright reflection in the leaves. While processing you need to pull down the highlights a bit. Thanks for sharing.
