This is my 555 post, so thought of posting a tiger photograph created in Bandhavgarh. This is taken at the famous Rajbhera Dam. I have other similar photographs of the tigeress walking on the wall, but this one I thought was a bit different as it looks a bit alert in its pose.

Canon 50D, 100-400 mm L IS USM, f5.6, ISO 200, 1/640

Comments and Critiques welcome..

Lovely 555th post... (111 away from the devil :D )
I love the theme of the image... Would have liked the dam to not bisect the image in half...
Would have loved more of the water and reflection in frame with the tiger on top...
Do you have any other compositions?

ohh 555!

Nice milestone.

I don't mind the wall bisecting the frame as the reflection is included. Is there some space at the bottom? The reflection is just cut. Including the full reflection would have been nice. Image is sharp.

However, to be honest, though this dam wall is frequently used by the tigers, I wish for a more natural surface. Mud dam? :D

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Thanks Bibhav and Sabyasachi. I just reprocessed it on the composition front for the full reflection. This is a full frame. Yes I think for photographers they should consider building a mud wall :).

lovely capture...Mrudul. I think in this situation photographers have not much choice for the better or different composition...So this is fantastic composition at the dam... :)

All best wishes,

Cheers, Rahul

A very different tiger image. Wonderful shot. Only thing is, though full frame looks better from the compo point of view, it seems a bit soft as compared to the earlier cropped one... wonder why... could you please look into it and reply?

Congrats Mrudul

Lovely image. Honestly, i like your frame better (liked the space on top of the tiger) for Bibhav's composition kind of gives you a mirror image with a perfect two way split of the horizon (in this case the wall!!!)

While i do belive in the rule of thirds, i think the creativity of a composer (read photgrapher) sometimes lies in working around rules :)

Look forward to 5555 soon!!

regards
Rajan

Thanks all for the comments :).

Bibhav, thanks for the repost. It does look good, but I think in your composition the focus is more on the reflection than the tiger.

Abhishek, I checked the size it is 158kb, so no problem on that front. Maybe I should have worked a bit on the processing in the RAW.

Congrats on your 555th post!

I like the uncropped image better. Agree with Sabyasachi about the natural dam. When I used to go to Bandhavgarh we used to go to Rajbehera to try and find B3. We never did.
