(1) A slightly off centered composition or even a vertical may have worked here.
(2) If you were in the far end of your focal length (500 mm), maybe pulling in a bit (around 400) may have helped.
(3) A higher ISO may have given you a little more shutter speed for more details
(4) An exposure compensation (depending on the histogram) may have helped for you seem to have been shooting against or a diagonal light source.
(5) A strong support like a bean bag, mono / tripod may have helped
There is a little noise, which maybe over saturation or sharpening in PP ?
Overall a nice typical Drongo pose and good eye contact

Nice suggestions by Rajan. A catchlight would have lifted this image.
