Limitless Consumerism by our society & Urbanization has been the indirect cause for the depletion in local bio diversity & increasing Man-Animal Conflicts in these areas.
Soil Mining in these places have literally destroyed the whole plains & hence the loss of many flora & fauna.
Rapid development in cities do affect this place as there are now around 600 brick kilns in this place alone,to cater the need of bricks for constructing our "HOME"!
Thadagam Valley is an important ELEPHANT CORRIDOR as we all say but yet we have failed to protect them!

"According to naturalists, more than 600 brick kilns and brick-making units are functioning in Thadagam valley of Coimbatore district. A good number of them are unauthorised units which clear soil to depths ranging between five and 15 feet.
The Mining Department gives permission to dig the earth only for three feet. But, kiln owners dig up to 30 feet.
Over 2,000 acres in the Thadagam valley were mined like this."
