The Indian Roller is a stocky bird. It has a warm brown back, lilac breast and face, and blue crown, wings, tail and belly.

Has rufous-brown on nape and underparts, streaking on ear coverts and throat, and greeinsh mantle. In flight, shows turquoise band across primaries and dark blue terminal band to tail. Cultivation, open woodland, groves and gardens.
