The Red-headed Vulture, also known as the Asian King Vulture, Indian Black Vulture or Pondicherry Vulture though there are unrelated species in the New World who share the names King Vulture and Black Vulture.
Taken in this year in May-13 .

Majestic and striking pose. The light seems harsh. Is this a crop? The fierce look on the eyes are captivating and the razor sharp talons would have added an air of power and might if the legs were fully visible.

Nice head turn and lovely direct stare.

Agree with Rajan's comments. A vertical composition with more space at the bottom would have strengthened the composition further. I feel a lower ISO and a wider aperture would have sufficed here. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see this beautiful vulture. Most of the times we sight it in Ranthambhore. I wish you had more space at the bottom as the feet is cut off in this image. If you were not expecting the bird to fly off then you could have used a lower shutter speed.

In this case you have used a shutter speed of 1/800 and also used a narrow aperture of f10 with a high ISO. However the highlights seem to have been turned down impacting the background. Also that negates the narrow ISO of f10.

How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.
