Purple Herons @ Basai

Basai wetlands are on the way to Sultanpur from Gurgaon. These wetlands were once quite large and used to be the a regular haunt of flamingos. I happened to visit it over 2 weekends earlier this month. This was a piece of early morning magic I had the good fortune to record - Ardea Purpurea shot with the Nikon D 90, Nikkor 300 mm f 4 with TC 14E at 420mm, ISO 250, 1/800s - F/7.1

Lovely image with the habitat. Is this image cropped from the top? I would have liked a little more space above. Interesting to know that there were flamingos that far north, I guess they visited in winter.

Yes have cropped it as wanted both the herons to be properly spaced...

Nice to see this. Is the other heron resting? The area seems to be taken over by weeds. I heard that there is lot of dumping of garbage there.
