I am posting the image of this Barasingha as Roopak wanted to see a better image .The Barasingha is characterized by an almost woolly cum silken coat.Canon 60D+100-400 ISO400 1/125S FL400MM F/7.1 nov evening 2013

Nice picture of the young Barasingha male Shyamalaji. The antlers are still growing and so is the deer. Some huge barasinghas have antlers which resemble a dna strand when seen in certain angles. I had photographed one such deer long ago with a film camera, unfortunately the quality of the image is bad now... Thanks for sharing.

Nice and interesting. Hardground Barasingha of Kanha shed their antlers in late May and June. When Murugan Bhai says the antlers are growing, he is absolutely correct. The hair of the winter coat has also started developing. The sideways glare of the eye is so beautiful.
I have observed Stags personified, when they were the pride of Kanha. I have seen the reintroduced series also. Wish them all the best. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
